Business Development Manager, Emerging Markets

There were just over 20 people in Cmed when I joined seven years ago. That number is now nearer 300. Considering that I had no experience in the pharmaceutical industry before Cmed, my journey with Cmed has been one continuous path of learning, personal development and in my case international travelling.

I joined Cmed Technology as the project manager for the development of our eDC system – Timaeus. I was attracted to the concept of an eDC system that would allow electronic data capture wirelessly from the most remote clinical sites.

Over the years I have worked on projects in clinical operations, data management and marketing. However, interest in clinical trial technology remains my real passion, and combined with my love of travel and meeting people, my current BD role which focuses on using Timaeus in emerging countries is my perfect job.

From one day to the next there is nothing routine about my job. I derive immense satisfaction from my work. I could be in Nairobi one week, with plans for a presentation in Moscow the next. Every day I meet great people from all walks of life, and increasingly realize what my job and this industry is about – supporting the development of cures to extend and save lives
