Job Title: Head of Commercial Software Development (Cmed Technology)

Core Responsibilities

The Head of Commercial Software Development will manage all day-to-day aspects of Timaeus development.

• Recruit, develop and motivate teams of software engineers, test engineers and technical writers, managing measurable continuous improvement of quality, cost and performance


• Lead on-time development, testing, validation, and release of Timaeus products in alignment with Cmed’s strategic roadmap and architecture plan.


• Accurately estimate and plan for resource, costs, and time required for Timaeus releases


• Ensure complete and timely documentation and sharing of information to other groups in order to market, sell, deliver, operate, train and support new Timaeus releases


• Develop and maintain efficient, auditable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensure compliance with industry regulations, Cmed Technology SOPs and software standards.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems (or equivalent industry experience)


• Demonstrated experience using agile, iterative, or similar modern software delivery models for at least three (3) enterprise software projects or commercial product releases


• Demonstrated experience leading multiple teams of 20 or more technology staff


• Demonstrated experience leading multiple, concurrent releases of large software projects


• Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaboration across technology, business, and scientific professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading design and development of web- (or Internet-) based software


• Experience leading design and development of highly-distributed, high-scale software applications (i.e., applications with data and computing distributed across geographically separate servers capable of supporting several thousand simultaneous end users)


• Experience delivering software using the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Cloud Computing, or Application Service Provider (ASP) models


• Experience managing teams across multiple geographic locations


• Industry experience delivering validated software or information systems within the pharmaceutical, biotech or life sciences industry.

Location and Reporting Relationship

This position will reside in Cmed Technology’s Horsham, West Sussex, UK headquarters. It will report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
