Core Responsibilities


As a key account manager your role will predominantly be focused on the development of longstanding company sponsor relations, with the overall responsibility of ensuring increased awards and driving those relationships towards full service CRO awards.  You will be expected to foster relationships, promote Cmed beyond the current exposure levels and expand the service offering within each client.


Principal Accountabilities


A successful applicant will be expected to lead and drive internal Key Account Teams (KATs) and support the operational groups both internally and that of the client.  You will act as a single point of escalation for issues and ensure that any findings or points for concern that arise outside of the day to day operations are reported, then followed to resolution in a professional and satisfactory manner to both the client and Cmed management team.


You will be expected to build up a network of contacts within each individual account for which you are responsible and increase Cmed’s exposure beyond the operational areas (for example, Outsourcing groups, Procurement and Finance etc.).   You will also nurture existing relationships within each account and drive the Key Account Teams forward, with the ultimate aim of guaranteeing the delivery of a unified proficient team image to the client.



  • Expanding the Cmed offering beyond the current service levels based on previous positive service experiences

  • Explore Strategic penetration of the wider company by introducing new technological concepts that our enabling clinical data collection and management technology ‘Timaeus’ permits (Adaptive Trial Design, eSource, remote monitoring etc.)

  • To review Requests for Proposal information provided by your clients and ensure adequate information is both received and then delivered back to the client in the expected format and timeframe

  • Input into and ensure relevant marketing materials are available according to the strategic plans for each client

  • Attend and, where relevant, present at marketing and promotional events

  • Actively be involved in process and sponsor relationship initiatives to improve business effectiveness.


Essential Work Experience And Qualifications



  • 2 to 3 years of experience working within CRO. Preferably experience in drug development and clinical data management or sales

  • Sales and/or account management experience

  • Experience of EDC is an advantage but not essential

  • Degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing or nursing qualification (e.g. RN) or equivalent relevant experience

  • Foreign language skills would be advantageous.
