Timaeus wins Best Technological Development

Cmed are delighted to announce that, on the 22nd October 2008, Cmed’s iDAM (intelligent Data Acquisition and Management) technology Timaeus was acknowledged as the winner in the “Best Technological Development in Clinical Trials – Software Solutions” category at the annual GCPj awards 2008 (www.gcpjawards.com). Cmed and GSK were jointly acknowledged as best in class based upon a recent study performed in the Masai Mara Africa, in which Timaeus was utilized to collect and manage clinical data in a malaria study in remote geographical locations WITHOUT access to the internet.

The GCPj awards were hosted at Banqueting House in Whitehall, London with both Cmed and GSK represented on the evening. Timaeus was entered into the strongly contested category of “Best Technological Development in Clinical Trials” and specifically the “Software Solutions” class. Timaeus was recognised for its successful implementation and completion of an eDC study with patients suffering with Malaria in the Masai Marai, using mobile telephone and satellite technologies to transmit data to and from the servers in London, UK.

This achievement represents a significant landmark in the development of Timaeus within Cmed and is recognition of the hard work and dedication the business has put into developing a single, fast, non web dependant solution to successfully managing clinical trials without any geographic or technical restrictions.
