How to collect data from remote locations?

Today, the pharmaceutical industry is looking to collect data from patients in geographically challenging regions either because the indication dictates it (e.g., malaria and TB) or because patient access in more “standard” indications is becoming increasingly difficult in more established regions.

The complete absence of or relative unreliability of Internet access in many of these regions precludes the use of many electronic data capture (EDC) systems.

The unique architecture of the Timaeus on-demand eClinical platforms means the data packages it uses to communicate are measured in kilobytes, not megabytes.  Consequently, whilst web-enabled, Timaeus is not web-dependent and can efficiently communicate over mobile phone networks.  As a result, EDC capabilities are now available in remote locations.
